I mean, you know they're not made of carbon fiber. They're wheels! Therefore, I think the same of these as I think of, say, carbon fiber door handle stickers. Why? Buy black.

for the Lazy

But as chino noted, they are not mad of CF, it just looks like they have a CF overlay(sticker) on the face of the wheel b4 they cleared them. But if rice is what you like those wheels are like gold.

I looked at similar ones, too pimp for me, but if you have other carbon fiber on the car it could look cool. My main concern would be scratches that could not be touched up.

Anything that says "carbon fiber look" or "carbon fiber finish" is pretty lame...

I don't know about "rice". I think they may help someone complete their carbon fiber "theme".

CC, sorry to disagree, but Dymag does make CF rims (with cast magnesium centers) -- um, they're only $2500 each?

Carbon is not really a good material for wheels, unless you mix it with something like Kevlar.
If you want carbon overload, the image below is about 1200 lbs of the stuff (an upside-down boat hull, about 56 ft long). The "paper" stuck to it is "peel-ply", used to separate the carbon pre-preg from the bleeder cloth so you can remove the vacuum bag easily after cooking it. It also protects the carbon from scuffing while it is on. This is what we do all day, every day at the shop.

but if you have all carbon fiber that is real, a hood, hatch, ground effects, and then put fake carbon fiber wheels on - even if its to finish a theme, that seems kinda cheesy....

..thats like living in a house thats all real brick - and then putting up a detached garage covered in faux brick paneling....

the Dymag wheels ARE carbon fiber, though I don't know about additives like Kevlar. I've seen them in person on the Porsche GT-3 Time Attack car. They feature cast magnesium centers. Very high-end, very expensive.

Here are a few pics for the doubters:

These particular wheels were developed for OEM's ( notably Mosler MT900S supercar ) and subsequently were introduced / marketed for the high-end aftermarket.

Strong and light, only small batch quality related issues ( typical of any wheel mfr ). They had a few sets apparently suffered from air leakage from the magnesium / composite juncture ( joined by titanium bolts ).

Not many know that carbon fiber wheels were even available from aftermarket vendors as early as the late 1980's ( though hardly the tuner type wheels we are familiar with, a company called MRW sold them for dirt track racing applications ).

Yeah, but I'm just crazy enough to throw a set of those on a Yaris
