so i took a test drive

and my first im pression was its tiny. I have my mr2 but this felt little. when i sat down it felt really weird because the seat was so high. and well i drove the standerd version and it was weird because i couldnt hear the motor or see the rpm so it was really just random shifts. ha and well the seats kinda hurt my back. does it get better?

you have to learn to drive the car.... and yes it gets better.... with a few minor modifications you can make it shift smooth as silk (Short shift kit, Synthetic trans fluid, and grounding kit) all inexpensive mods that do not void any type of warranty what so ever

Well I think black is the only way to go.... but I would not have settled for anyother color..... I told them at the dealer "I want 2 things, Black & a manual"
Flint Mica, is also a very nice color

You may have to be a little patient for that much of a big power jump... though alot of members have found some simple mods that gave it a little more pep. Just drive it between 4-6,500 rpms, squint your eyes, and pretend its your mr2 on an "off" day (heh, heh) for a while. I'm confident there will be something good down the line.
Good luck.

tsk tsk we all know RED is the way to go...

Though, in my humble opinion, the nicest color for the LB is white, but black or flint mica for the sedan

I was confused for awhile, until I remembered that the MR2 is still being sold in the States after they discontinued it here in Canada. The Yaris can't be compared to the MR2, but at least you'll have room in the back in case one girlfriend isn't enough.

I'm 6'2 and Leg room isn't great, but seating position is good and makes for easy in/out access. Since you're still in highschool, you might not appreciate us old timers with the weak knees.

For longdistance, I'd get cruise control. I'm 250lb and have driven for 16hr, while only stopping for gas and take-out and no back fatigue. But, the cruise control would have helped to reduce leg fatigue.

You're totally getting a Yaris. Just accept it
It's amazing what new wheels and a slight drop will do for the look too.

I thought the high seat was weird too, until I got it in traffic--now I appreciate the view.

Yeah not being able to hear the engine real well was odd too, thought about adding a tach, but got used to it. Now I tell when to shift partly from vibration through the pedal

Maybe the main diff is going from RWD in the MR2 to FWD--you'll get used to that too, I did.
