If possible, can you post pictures of your modified mounting brackets? Which of the positioning dimples did you grind off on each bracket?

So the new trim piece doesn't rest on the face frame of your head unit? If not, don't you see a gap / empty space around the face frame of your head unit (between the face frame and the trim piece)?

I really don't feel like ripping everything apart again.

If possible, can you take and post up a picture of the side of your HU, as well as one of the mounting bracket. I will then use those to show you what I did.

The trim piece does rest on the HU. When the trim reaches the point where it snaps into place, the back side of the opening just meets up with the 'flange' on the face frame.

Here's a picture of the left bracket. You can see the six alignment bumps.

The face frame of the HU measured 178mm, with an extended nose at 170mm.
By repositioning the HU, the trim now 'rests' on the 178mm portion of the face frame. There is no contract being made on the inside of the trim piece opening.

The second one has this disclaimer:

"Please not if you are installing a stereo into a Japanese vehicle you will need the dearer din pocket kit as the standard width of a Japanese aperture is smaller than din size and the pocket has to fit from behind."

So, I think you need one which attaches to the brackets with screws, rather than a snap-in one.

You should look for the authentic Toyota branded single din pocket w/ door. I've found some on eBay before. I think they came out of old Camrys.

i tried searching, but don't know what to search for. the reason i trying find a different one is because its a usa seller and i prefer if possible a uk seller that way save time and custom payment
