Has anyone else had the bluetooth die? And what did you do?
Just get a new, separate bluetooth system? |

I had mine for less than a year. The Bluetooth stops working once radio warms up and gets fuzzy like there's no signal until you restart the unit. Finally a few weeks ago the whole unit just died it will go to DVD mode randomly whenever it wants then fail because there's no disc inside and this will repeat over and over. I'd never recommend anyone to purchase this radio and for the price you can get way better.

...aaannnnd it's going to go back. Equalizer doesn't work, radio reception is poor on some stations. I also cant get around 18 presets, no more, no less. Also the screen protector is leaking off and bubling, and I can't remove it because it's under the bezel.
Oh and it's 103mm vs 100 so I can't quuiiiite get it to fit under trim |

To expand on this:
Navigation sucked, the included app would always lock up, and I never got a reliable usage of google maps, and I would just use my phone in any case. After a firmware update to fix an issue I had with Bluetooth, the dimmer function no longer worked with my headlights, and in fact was removed from settings entirely. The antenna connector,as well as the microphone interface, was very poor. And I got crap quality. The radio tuner app was poorly designed. I think you are also unable to just get another one because it's baked in The internet is rife with similar reviews and even fixes involving cutting traces and adding solder I am convinced all glowing reviews are fake or special units getting the best qc Honestly avoid it. Same goes with all of them, joyig, pumpkin, etc.

Well I can say that I didn't have most of the problems that you later guys are complaining of. But the bluetooth function on mine is completely dead.
We all already knew this really isn't the highest quality unit out there, although don't get me wrong, I'm not defending it. But when you've got $800 and $1200 units available from reputable brand names such as pioneer and a couple others, I can't say that I'm real surprised to see that the quality control on these units wasn't up to par. Can anyone recommend one of these types of units that's really high quality? One where you can actually scroll fast through an audiobook or radio show that you've put on a USB flash drive, and inserted into the USB port to listen to on the radio in the car. And it would be really nice to be able to delete stuff off of the flash drive, from the screen. Also that has a good GPS program and bluetooth that actually freakin' works. Anyone know of a unit like that? Last edited by BennyLava; 08-19-2016 at 04:56 AM. |

Well its time to do an update on my unit, the main unit that this thread is about. And the one that the OP installed.
After 4 years, its done. The radio stations are starting to have static, and the bluetooth died about 2.5 years in. So while it was awesome at the time, its time for it to go. I'll be replacing it with the top of the line, $1,000 pioneer. Should be a hell of an upgrade, since the unit in this thread was a somewhat inexpensive chinese unit. So my final analysis... Eh, you get what you pay for, and this radio was a roll of the dice. I wanted something that would last me 10 years, but got something that lasted 4. Based on the price, there are likely much better units out there. I'd probably avoid it. |
