Much like building a drag car or a stereo system... you must find a point at which you are satisfied and STOP throwing time and money at it! ![]() Derick: put your a-pillars on, mount your tweets and your mid-bass drivers in your doors, put your front-stage amp under the passenger seat, buy a prefab ported box for your IDQ's and stick `em in the trunk, remove the rear deck oem speakers and use the holes for sound ports, mount your sub amp to the sub box, Fire it all up... adjust your levels, x-over points, and your EQ... and you are DONE! ONE full days work. So... by this saturday, you can tell us how awesome it sounds. Pics are cool too! GET BUSY! See you back here on saturday!

You do what AM says and you have something that everyone else has a pre fab and no real imagination or expression. Don't be a sheep.

Right a-pillar need couple of hours to be ready for wiring Mid-bass drivers will go in kick panels, I dislike everything about putting them in the doors. Front-stage amp... will never make it under the seats, it's almost 2 feet long! I've been looking for a subwoofer-box, but I can't find one that pleases me, I'll have to make one that meets the right specs. Remove the rear deck speakers... I did this month ago! and toss them away! I wouldn't put the amp on the sub-box, I'm afraid of the vibrations and second effects over time to the amp. Both amps will go on the floor behind front seats, will build a sub-floor to hide and protect them. Just to be silly... I don't have an EQ well the HU comes with a 31 band EQ feature, Time Alignment, %$#$ 'bla-bla-bla' I love the P-99 HU I can't think how boring would be if I'm done by Saturday, but Thanks AM to keep us motivated I really need that push! after all having a 4 month baby, a 4 year old son and a lovely wife very busy taking care of the kids I need to get my a$$ up and do something to feed them and keep them happy, doing a little bit here and there with small jobs, but lacking of a real job for now. I hope everything gets better and that the New Year is full of blessings for every body! Derick.

You are correct. And Derick just proved my point in his last post: He has alot of things going on in his life right now. I would rather be enjoying my music, instead of spending the rest of my life working on my system. I understand everyone needs a hobby. It's all good. I just like playing the devil's advocate.

I finished the spheres on the a-pillars tomorrow they are going back to the car.
I put some pieces of CLD Tiles in the back of the a-pillars then covered with ensolite (ccf-peal and stick) Next would be wire and connect the speakers.

I did make a hole to the spheres and a-pillars to let the drivers breath, the HL-70 are "Free Air"

I really wanted to hear the HL-70s in the spheres... and what can I say...
WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! They sound beautiful! I unplugged the MidBass drivers from the doors and plugged the HL-70s to my small Pioneer amp providing 60x2 watts in junction with the 10" Bachuka taking care of the lower frequencies. Amazing sound, set them at 200Hz - 6.3kHz the melodies sound fantastic, I just can't believe all the sound that comes from these little 3" drivers. I know I'm missing 2 big chunks of the music from 40Hz to 200Hz and 6.3kHz and up. But even under these circumstances the sound it's amazing I'm hearing things that I never heard before in the same old good songs. I've played a little bit with Time Alignment, and suddenly feels like there are more speakers surrounding me, like a 3Dimensional sound inside the car, and what surprised me was that I can't locate the HL-70, I'm hearing the music but it doesn't feel like it's coming from the speakers! I had to touch them too feel them moving... it's fantastic, when I decided to go 3 way Front Stage and had to get rid of the Rear Speakers I kind of disagree with the idea of loosing them to fill in the rear, now I understand better, and feel the difference, and why more people are moving towards this direction. I can't wait to have everything working together... tweeters, midbass, 12" woofer and mids. One more thing I found was that I can keep increasing the volume and there is no distortion, it just gets better and better. D.

Last night in the middle installing the a-pillars back, I went under the hood and took off the hood liner in there, and started the deadening process of the engine compartment, so I put some CLD Tiles under the hood... more to come!
looks like I can't finish something to start something else, yes I'm a mess in this process, but it's fun! BTW I'm getting ready to put the Snow Tires, it's getting cold over here! D.
