Congratulations!!!, I can see (feel) how you end up in 1st place, I'm very happy for you.

Now you know why I don't compete! it's just too much of a commute for me, jeje LOL

@ sick,

I do get what you're saying. What I wouldn't do would be to put both the woofer AND the port facing down. I'd actually aim the port up into the dash or at the firewall.

@ Derick,

Keep your pillars the way they are now. Let me do the R&D. If I get an improvement with the left side width, I'll let you know what I did so IF you want, you can do the same type of thing. I'm looking at making waveguide-type panels for my tweeters right now as well as moving the mids deeper towards the windsheild.

The closest IASCA competition for you would probably be in South Carolina or up in Canada (this weekend). I ultimately think that you should give it a try at least once. Let me know if you ever decide to take a weekend and go to one, most likely I'll know one of the Team Hybrids guys there so they can take you under their wing.

Also, D...I'm thinking that our resonant frequency is at 42 Hz. See if you can find a 42 Hz tone and run it through. You now combine that frequency and combine it with the tuning frequency for your enclosure of, oh let's say 38 Hz. Then that extends the response of the enclosure to fit your vehicle's response more accurately.
Yeah! I'm still in "thinking" mode, you know how designers work, think think think, then get it done. (sort of).

Yes, 38 Hz it's my target according to the enclosure Design Criteria...

Ok, do your R&D I'll wait (O:

I would love to have my set up go through IASCA's judges, I'm very curious to see where I'm!

Thinking of it going into carpet vs what enclosure under your trunk mounted set up.
2 different enclosures,

Sqcomp has a sealed enclosure with the woofer upsidedown, yes the back of the woofer is what creates the bass, it doesn't matter.

I'm doing a ported box (vented) and yes the back of the woofer is what produces the bass, but with a little help from the port, bass increases a little more and bass goes out through the vented port that will be facing towards the fire wall.

Here are a couple of diagrams with different types of enclosures:

And why? I want the subwoofer in front....???

This is why: when I have my IDQ12 in the trunk, my seat vibrates! and at very low notes, it can be localized! (in the rear of course)

When I have my IDQ12 in front, my chest feels the bass, like it's coming from the Mids! payless sensation! x 1,000,000

You should feel the power I have with this S2b amplifier. I've got the sub dialed back 11 dB and it's plenty loud. Take it down to 5 dB down and OMGawd! The mirror actually shakes so hard it moves out of joint. I actually get "rattles" from the back bumper. They're more af a very subdued movement of the entire trunk and bumper...

I just had the balls to try that today.

D! Download a glitch song from Vibe Quad called, Funkwear. That is a bad ass track. Get it and get back to me after you hear it in the car.

Speaking of localization on the rear sub, what's your crossover point and slope on that?

I you could transform your amp power into Horse Power, your Yaris should be able to do 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds!

OK, I have the song I'll try it tomorrow!

Actually, I have a little project in the works that deals with a stripped down 1987 Honda CRX, a brand new Ohlins race suspension, a Hartley H1 engine, and a sequential gearbox...

It's 63Hz at 12 dB/oct according to the software of the P99's Auto T/A and EQ

you have the L6's in? If so, take the crossover point down to 45 hz at 36 dB and the L6's to 45 at 24 dB. The TA on the sub (if it's in the rear) should be about 60-ish inches.

Imagine that little CRX (which weighs 1700-ish lbs curb weight) stripped down with a racing suspension on it...add 500 N/A horsepower at 10K RPM WITH a sequential...you get a little car that has more power to weight than a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. I'll betcha I can get that car down to mid 1400 lbs. That would put the HP to weight of the car (if set up correctly) greater than a Pagani Zonda...

No I don't have the L6's in, I'm sure that is why the software is going that high!

But I'm saving this info once the time comes by! even though the way it sounds (Mid/bass) now was amazing for the DIYMeet members at the Massachusetts meet and had a chance to hear my set up, one of them had L6's and he was very much impressed,...

so... I guess it just gets better and better!

Sounds AWESOME!

The Sub "shows off" I really like the IDQ12

Lows, slamming hard really nice, but at really high volume my left door (plastic panel vibrates and rattles)

This track has a very nice center image even without a singer!

The stage width goes from outside sail panel left to right, very interesting "wuogle" sound

Should I be looking for something else?

There is a huge low end that can rumble the entire foundation of your vehicle...

Other than that, it's a simple "Whoa" type song.

The L6's in the door...If you trim out the circle in the panel you'll eliminate or reduce the rattle...

Rumbles everything for sure, feels like 2 or 3 woofers in the trunk. The Lows are nice and tight, and the "Whoa" song sounds 3Dimensionally awesome!

I though about cutting a hole in the panel in front of the speaker! but just to be sure, do you mean exposing the speakers (Lows) and have eye contact with them? if so after using a router how do I finish and make it look good without doing another peace of art?

I would like to see the L6's move!

I got this shot, that leaves the woofer exposed and brings more foot print area, with a little step foot rest area. Another idea[/B] with an inverted subwoofer firing into the box! could be next! I still think that I should wait for the port and get an idea on how big are the inside/outside flares!

Disregard the I6SW in this picture it's only holding the inclined board that holds the popcorn and
