You do what AM says and you have something that everyone else has a pre fab and no real imagination or expression. Don't be a sheep.

You are correct.

And Derick just proved my point in his last post:

I understand everyone needs a hobby. It's all good.

I finished the spheres on the a-pillars tomorrow they are going back to the car.

I put some pieces of CLD Tiles in the back of the a-pillars then covered with ensolite (ccf-peal and stick)

Next would be wire and connect the speakers.

I did make a hole to the spheres and a-pillars to let the drivers breath, the HL-70 are "Free Air"

Yes the spheres are about 4 to 5 inches in diameter, the second set of spheres that I'm going to build for my car will be smaller and will host the tweeters, these in particular are the ones that will get a benefit of the spheres controlling diffractions in a better way.

Here is a link that talks about diffractions and why I'm building my system around spheres. LINK

I really wanted to hear the HL-70s in the spheres... and what can I say...

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!

They sound beautiful! I unplugged the MidBass drivers from the doors and plugged the HL-70s to my small Pioneer amp providing 60x2 watts in junction with the 10" Bachuka taking care of the lower frequencies.

Amazing sound, set them at 200Hz - 6.3kHz the melodies sound fantastic, I just can't believe all the sound that comes from these little 3" drivers. I know I'm missing 2 big chunks of the music from 40Hz to 200Hz and 6.3kHz and up. But even under these circumstances the sound it's amazing I'm hearing things that I never heard before in the same old good songs.

I've played a little bit with Time Alignment, and suddenly feels like there are more speakers surrounding me, like a 3Dimensional sound inside the car, and what surprised me was that I can't locate the HL-70, I'm hearing the music but it doesn't feel like it's coming from the speakers! I had to touch them too feel them moving... it's fantastic, when I decided to go 3 way Front Stage and had to get rid of the Rear Speakers I kind of disagree with the idea of loosing them to fill in the rear, now I understand better, and feel the difference, and why more people are moving towards this direction.

I can't wait to have everything working together... tweeters, midbass, 12" woofer and mids.

One more thing I found was that I can keep increasing the volume and there is no distortion, it just gets better and better.

Last night in the middle installing the a-pillars back, I went under the hood and took off the hood liner in there, and started the deadening process of the engine compartment, so I put some CLD Tiles under the hood... more to come!

looks like I can't finish something to start something else, yes I'm a mess in this process, but it's fun! BTW I'm getting ready to put the Snow Tires, it's getting cold over here!

Where I work we really push the no rear speaker approach to customers. When someone comes in wanting to buy 4 new spaekers I let them hear my car without rears then sell them 2 speakers that cost what ther were willing to spend on all 4.

It's late, I'm tired...

I did manage to install the PB ASA1100.5x amp, very nice terminals. Even at volume 1, I could tell the difference in sound quality, it's like my speakers sound Bolder!
I couldn't crank it up, every body is sleeping I'll have first impressions later

The Remote gain control for the sub works very good.

So right now this is where I am...

Mids (HL-70) pb amp 75x2 watts

MidBass (Hifonics 6.5" in doors) pioneer amp 100x2 watts [soon to be replace by HAT L6 in kick panels]

Subwoofer (10" Bachuka) pb amp 250x1 watts [soon to be replace by IDQ12]

Next:
Tweeters (HAT L1v2) pb amp 75x2 watts

Future:
get another amp with 75x4 watts for mids and tweeters, take out the Pioneer and move the PB amp to 300x2 watts + 500x1 watts for Midbass and Sub.

Impressions?

BREATHTAKING!!!

Do I need more?
it sounds so nice, I can't imaging it sounds so good and the tweeters are not playing in the equation YET!

All the sound got BOLDER the Bachuka sounds so much better, I couldn't believe the difference, I wonder how good it will be with the IDQ12

My cheap (temporary) midbass driviers in the doors handling 100x2 watts sound better than ever...

and the Mids, can't complain I love the way they sound I change the Frequency to 260Hz - 10kHz for now until I install the tweeters.

NEXT:

Gain Match!
