I'm not very clear on how "more spark" is supposed to help combustion any? If you have a bucket of gasoline, it's gonna blow up the same... doesn't matter if you use a torch or a match to set it off. Can someone explain?
|
your best bet is too look on
nology's website they have a pretty informative Q&A section basically though your right you can light a pool of gas with a match but have you tried, it actually take a little bit of time for the pool to light, it takes less time with a torch. The same general rule applies.

So what are the plans for the new motor?
|
well basically no one makes any internals for our engine. Some companies have made custom parts for it, basically though I am going with a fully built engine so it can take some high levels of boost. I'm going for fastest street Yaris in the country. I like being on the forefront and developing new parts. Expect a lot of updates on the engine build as I get more and more of the info about our engines. Custom internals take a lot of work esp piston design and cam design.

The re-route looks great. And you making me more and more jealous with your setup. Stop upgrading already!!! Seriously though, nice work.

sorry i'm a car guy I can never stop tinkering or upgrading. I have two projects in the works already that will hopefully be done or nearing completion soon. The one is the intake/manifold, soon I will post side by side pics of the throttle bodies its quite amusing how small our TB's are. The other is some aero work, with an aluminum underpanel, and maybe some underbracing. I will keep you posted.
And yes it is a lot of work, but personally I feel it is worth it because If i have to show off my engine bay I want it to look nice and clean, plus I am still trying to go for that sleeper look so I wanted it to look semi stock. I haven't been able to dyno the difference, I will get on the dyno soon but it wont be able to give you good before and after dyno results becuase the numbers will be from different conditions.
The only thing to inform you guys about, I'm told that the
nology wires will work fine on a stock setup, but just so you guys know, I was able to finally get on it (since I live in the city I havent been able to) I have a miss at the top of 2nd and 3rd gear. I know this is because with the stock ignition system my tune required the timing to be adjusted and now it only needs adjusting again because the way the wires perform. I don't believe you guys should have to adjust your timing at all because the ecu will probably compensate for it, however since my ignition is set, it needs some further adjustment. Just so you guys are aware of the situation.
