FYI... we only have a few pieces in stock as of this writing.
Not sure of our Authorized Retailers' inventory, but those of you who are interested may want to hurry.

i got a quick ?. i had the ssk in my 07 hb before i totalled it. well i was able to get it back. well last sat i got my 09 hb and i was putting the parts in the new from the old , but the short shifter doesnt fit quite right. it wont sit down far enough to set the pin in the "factory" location. i know the trans. are the same in both years.. am i missing something or should i just break out the ole dremel am trim it up some?

Thank you NST (Mike)
Installed my SSK2 short shifter (In Cabin) the whole instal including taking photo's took about 1/2 an hr . Makes the gear shifts a lot closer and smoother, next will be the cage bushes when they arrive next week. I highly recomend this mod to all ,oh and my Yaris is a 1.3ltr Got the Cage bushes and installed them today , shifting gears is now very quick and very solid, Thanks NST and Microimage

Thanks for this NST. I installed the engine bay model. It works great and only took about 6 minutes to install. 4 minutes of that was finding the clip I dropped.

Most of our customers order the regular SSK (engine bay) and come back a few months later for the SSK-2 (in cabin) option. Both are great, both are easy to install, and both are very affordable. Good luck |

Well, having just put in the SSK-2 with the shifter cage and cable shifter bushings I haven't noticed a drastic reduction in the throw length but everything feels much more solid. Definitely worth the price of admission.
You could say I went about it backwards I suppose, without having the engine bay SSK installed first. I was more concerned with the sloppy/vague feeling of the shifter rather then the shortness of the throws. I guess compared to my truck, the Yaris feels short already, heh. Either way, I'm really pleased with how it is now, just getting rid of all the slop from the stock setup makes a world of difference. But I guess I should get off my ass and order up the first kit. Considering the cost, it's worth a go. |
