It's your car you can do what you want... if you do not believe us just go to your local Toyota dealer and ask them to pull up ant TSB's on the 1NZ engine and POOF it will say everything Chino and I have been trying to tell you for the last hour or so

the TSB suggest 0w-20 or 5w-20, 5w-20 is more common

i was guessing from when i purchased the car 6 months ago what i read.
it says 10w-30 may be used however it should be replaced with 5w-30 at next oil change. i thought it was 0w-20 but it is 10w-30 that could be used. copy and paste what you found black yaris |

Do some more internet homework/research....you will find that RP is not the best synthetic on the market...there are more better like Mobile1 and especially Amsoil...still, RP is better then any mineral....

i believe you, but i want to see the TSB. i've never heard about it before, and like i said, i thought it stood for Toyota Service Booklet.
don't think anyone here's doubting you though. |

well, i ended up buying Mobile 1 full syn. 5W-20. RP doesn't have a 0W-20 and the store manager said to get Mobile one instead of RP. they didn't have 0W-20 in stock for the Mobile 1, so i ended up getting 4 quarts of 5W-20. i bought a Napa Gold Oil filter because the SM said it's the same as Wix.
i read all of the replies here when i get back. i have to pick up my laptop now... |

okay, i think the next oil change that i'll be doing is within the next 9k or 10k or sooner miles, just to let what ever remaining conventional oil out. from then on, maybe 10-15k mile intervals.
