It better to get them refinished. There lots of place in montreal that can do it cheaper than toronto. When i went for my rims they said it would be 225$ for the set. If not there powder coating, while will run about 400 for a set.
If you still want to paint them get a place that will sand blast them, it will so much faster and they can get in those hard to reach places. Then head to a napa or any good paint place and get a good primer, if you can try to see what type of metal the rims is and get a primer made for that metal. Then paint away. Did it on my last rims for my paseo. As for mounting you'll have to get a place that handles vw deep dish rims. It mostly those cars that have the stretched tires on the rims, They do a good job. |

I basically did this but took the wheels off of the car...and painted them in my kitchen. Yes, I really did. Haha, what else is a college student with no garage supposed to do? It worked very well and I even cleared them.

at least take the tires off and try to clean up the wheel a bit before you spray them.

Wheel Wizards (in Ontario) was recommended to me by a Firestone dealer. I believe they may be in Hamilton. I've seen their truck a few times over the years.

It takes a bit of time, but it's so easy (and cheap as chips) to sand, colour spray, and clearcoat.

3 coats color, 2 coats clear on each....
a good scrubbing with sand paper or blasting works wonders....but definitely dont paint over chrome or clear coat u need to buff it up a little first. |

Sandblasting with silica sand is not recommended for alloy wheels as the sand will actually damage the surface of the alloy. A good shop will use ground walnut shells to minimize damage. Better still, use a chemical dip.
