Anything I should be aware of prior to installing the front license plate holder?.

Cute guy's...real cute! HA. Is there a threaded "unit" behind the plastic bumper...the screws that came with the factory plate holder are self tapping

OK, my '10 LB front license plate screwed directly into the front bumper cover with self tapping screws. Mine came with screws that were long enough to go through a license plate frame, the license plate and the plate mount. It didn't look like there was even pilot holes originally. Kind of a cheap way to do it, but I guess that's what you get with an inexpensive car.
BTW, it seems like it would be very easy to strip the holes out, so be careful that you don't over tighten them. |

i remember first picking up my yaris and the dealer screwed in the plate in front of me and I wasn't really all mad about it because I was never into cars until later on now it haunts me lol, I've seen the tow circle "thing" you pop out in the front and people modify it to fit a license plate, or I have seen the license plate attached with brackets that you screwed in from the bottom of the bumper, underneath the car.

Granted any car looks better without a front plate.
However, IMO if you must have one, I really think it looks much better centered than off center like that. It just offends my personal sense of design and proportion. But, like I said, it's just IMO. Last edited by RedRide; 07-02-2010 at 02:12 PM. |
