Sway Bar.
I am a total Noob to suspension mods. Can someone tell me how much and what difference would a sway bar make to my Yaris?
Thanks!

Looks like you are bone stock from a suspension setup. As was I two weeks ago, then I installed the UR 23mm sway bar. You absolutely can feel the difference. Turn in, much sharper, increased stability all around, and less body roll. Where before I had to brake and downshift to 2nd to make a 90 degree turn, I can leave the car in 3rd. Put it this way, I will need new tires soon, because corners are way to fun now!

Adding or enlarging a rear swaybar provides less body roll, less understeer, sharper steering response and greater stability at speed.
You won't feel it much when you're going straight except for greater resistance to cross-winds and that sort of thing. You will feel it in any turn at any speed. |

I think what you notice all around is the increased stearing response. At highway speeds, as Loren mentioned, the car seems stiffer and wallows less. Driving in a straight line at 30mph you will not notice the sway bar, but that's boring:)

Then you are going to start saving gas on turns. (no need to slow down) .

i used a UR 23mm on totally stock suspension and wheel setup this past winter and it was great. it lessened the body roll and was still very predictable at the upper limits.

So whats the difference in running a 19mm vs. a 23mm rear sway bar? I currently have tein S-techs on my yaris and was wondering which sway bar would be better. I've been told that the 23mm will give me more oversteer with my current set up. is that true?

Less understeer. Less body roll. Everything a swaybar does, a larger swaybar will do more.
The 23mm bar isn't enough to "cause" oversteer in a Yaris, though. It's still a FWD car. |

We'll assume the OP doesn't drive like a complete moron on the street.
(that kind of maneuver done just the wrong way could have a completely stock Yaris in an oversteer condition) |

Mmm.. oversteer. First time offenders will probably end up tightening their sphincter. You know which one I mean.

A HUGE improvement with no downside. Do it!
