Neat-cheap interior mods that makes a huge difference.
I decided to make this topic to show you guys some interior changes I made on my 2009 hb yaris.
Ok so I wanted to make the cabin a little more luxurious and took inspiration from Europe rivals of our Yaris 1st of all I like the alloy trim that many cars have around the gearknob, so I replicated it with a silver strip that I bought from eBay. It’s 5meters and I cut it in the size I wanted (yes I also covered the stock gearknob with carbon vinyl since the original chrome paint that it had, got damaged from the years): 2nd I also liked the alloy ring that surrounds the circle air vents. It was an extra option, that my yaris didn’t had from the factory so I decided to buy them separately: 3rd I wanted an armrest and since my car didn’t had one, I bought an aftermarket one (and not an original yaris armrest because in my opinion is really ungly) and I screwed it in the bottle circle case behind the handbrake. It came with 2 covers (one pu leather and a cloth one, which I currently use). It’s not really bolted good and it shakes if I put force because the center console is cheaply made and it isn’t solid in place but it’s ok for me I couldn’t be happier with the result: 4: I decided to change every stock yellow interior bulb with leds. So map light, dome light and trunk have bright leds now. Also I went a step further and I installed foot lights in the front seats. They turn on whenever I open a door and they close when I close the door just like the dome light. They also have the fade in and out effect. That’s another mod that Europe rivals inspired me to do: 5: I upgraded the front stock speakers with a way better pair. The stock speakers that Europe yaris comes with is incredibly cheap. The size of the magnet is literally like a cent. Now I don’t know if you ever got the chance to listen to the sound that the stock vw group speaker produce but I am telling you that’s it’s very good, loud clear and with a lot of bass. So I found a pair of used speakers from an Audi A3 and I retrofitted them inside my front doors. Now i will buy another set for the rear doors when I figure out where are the wirings for the rear speakers. (Maybe you will disagree with my solution and maybe you don’t like the paper cone speakers, but keep in mind that vw uses very good quality speakers with a lot of bass and clear sound and by using them I don’t need to buy and amp or a sub like I had to do with aftermarket speakers. Also I paid only 10$ for them and that alone makes it a very good deal. I will let pics to speak, if I haven’t convinced you yet: And now the speakers I used to replace the stocks: The difference is day-night. Wish you could listen them. I think it’s totally worth it. Now even a random cat is happy Thanks for your time guys. I will keep this post updated with every new mod I make. ****UPDATE**** Here’s what I made today: I found those on eBay long time ago, and after reading some reviews, for speaker baffle foams in general, I found out that they might have a great results in overall sound experience. But the 40$ that they cost was too much for me. : So I thought hey, why I don’t build 2 of those by myself? I bought a foam sheet and a glue for total cost of 5$. After some measuring and cuts, here we are: Close result but with 35$ discount hehe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by miiser; 10-03-2018 at 09:30 AM. |

Can that digital cluster be switched to MPH? I have one for my 89 Turbo GT LeBaron that I will be swapping in (which isn't fun) and it has a button to switch between MPH and KPH.
