I've never even heard of that.

its the convertor that is used to expand the band width for japanese inported cars since they seem to have a bandwith of their own.

It requires that the radio be able to tune the frequencies beyond the Japanese band. Since the Yaris radio is digital, I would imagine that it would not be able to go above and below like an analog radio would.

Since this unit does it's work before the antenna input, I'd guess that a digital radio wouldn't know the difference. It has a 12v. wire & it plugs into the antenna input on the back of the radio.
Follow that ebay link, then follow their link to the manufacturer, then to the installation instructions. Looks pretty easy. |

I had mine fitted by the agent before I bought my Belta.
Go to Birkirkara ...www.source-r.com or shop@source-r.com. It basically shifts the frequency by 14.2 Hz and fools the digital radio to receive stations outside its designed range , which is the Japan range not the Malta range . The shop is on a road behind the BKara school . The one on ebay which you seem to be referring to shifts the frequencies by 12 or 24 hz and I think all you have to do is to install it inline with the aerial and give it a power supply to the red wire to power the electronics shifter . http://cgi.ebay.com.my/8-9-DISCOUNT-...-/160390545525 read the instructions :-) Last edited by pawngilly; 04-15-2010 at 03:30 PM. |
