first tank: 42 mpg
Just filled up my Yaris for the first time, and I was surprised to see that I got 42 mpg for the first tank, even though I was driving much faster (up to 65 mph highway) than I normally do (trying to vary the rpm during the first 600 miles on this new engine).
I've never had a new car before, but my understanding is that mileage should improve as the engine wears in. Can people tell me how much improvement I should expect? Think I'll pull the plug on the AC next and then start driving more normally. The rear-seat removal DIY is also tempting -- I only use my rear seat about twice a year, and even then it's usually not for people. |
