10.5lbs Konig Wheels
So in my endless search for the perfect wheels for my car I came Across the Konig Minuz... Made a Phone call to Konig to ask about Weight...
Yep 10.5 pounds! I also called Discounttire.com and was told they are $95 a wheel! I have seen Forged Wheels for twice the price at 10 pounds even! Great Wheel, Great Weight, Great Reputation Konig Minuz!

Nicely done Stever! A great choice! They're knockoffs of the same wheels Thomas is using AFAIK. You thinking that gunmetal color?

looks good! yeah, similar design to mine, but more "square" in a way, I guess.
What size are you going for?

Yo Nutz, you have incredibly good taste! I got the flat black Minuz also! Yes, there are incredibly light, and I could not be much happier with them.
I bought mine from buywheelstoday.com for $89 apiece, but I think DTD offers free shipping, so prolly a wash. Why is weight so important...are you auto-x'ing or something? Last edited by kurokoma-kun; 08-15-2007 at 02:03 PM. |

I feel that this cars Greatest asset is the fact that it only weighs 2200 or so Pounds... Installing things like a Stereo with Amps... and Front/Rear Strut bar... and a Turbo kit... with all that piping... will add weight to the car... Removing as much weight as I can where I can... Back seat, Spare tire, Wheels, and a new battery should counteract all that added weight... My buddy works for a Toyota Dealership... and before I bought the car we both took one out to race down 309... Well I know I'm a better driver, I have won plenty of races with him... but this time he won... he had the Auto, I had the 5spd... He weighs 140lbs... I weighted 220lbs Now I weigh 200... I have been trying to lose weight since I bought the car... And It's actually working!

Good plan. Colin Chapman (founder of Lotus) said "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere."

Now, how much difference does a couple lbs at the tires make? Compared to lightened pulleys/driveshaft etc?
Anyone got a good link for a newb maybe that'd explain it in detail? I've googled but only get bits n pieces. |

I run a set of the original Racing Harts in 17x7 +38. They weigh 12.8lbs each!
fully forged, color is called Winning Gold. I may consider selling them if anyone is interested, looking at some 13" wheels |

Hee! I talked to a guy at an auto-x with a nicely done older Scirocco a couple weeks ago. He had 13x8s with some Hoosier's (A3S something?) on there, OMG it stuck like a shadow
