I travel between the Lehigh Valley and Philly daily. I see it range from $2.71 to $2.55 (just in the Lehigh Valley alone, depending upon what part of it you're in).
Quakertown is seeing $2.55-$2.57 mostly. Lansdale/North Wales I've seen mainly around $2.67.

Eugene/springfield oregon = $2.80 - $2.90 but I heard a report of Cottage Grove (nearby town) being as low as $2.50....
rural almost always has the cheapest gas because cities impose taxes. |

I'm paying $2.90 for regular and I live out in a rural area. I've always run regular in all of my gas efficient cars, never had a problem except in the winter where I might add a bottle of iso-heat or other additive to prevent any water from condensing on the inside of the tank and freezing the fuel lines. |

The 1NZ-FE's compression ratio is 10.5:1, which historically is solidly in premium gas territory. The engine's combustion chamber design is a good one for low knock, Toyota has obviously done their homework regarding ignition timing mapping, and with the knock sensor feedback the ECU keeps it from detonating much. It's often been discussed whether higher octane fuel boosts the engine's performance noticeably, but I haven't seen any hard data. Wouldn't be a hard thing for someone with access to a dyno to prove. At any rate, it runs fine on cheap 87 pump octane gas (R+M/2), and I'll keep running on that.

$2.60 range give or take a few right over the border in Mass. (about 5 minutes from my house) RI $2.75 range give or take.... If I am not mistaken Texas and NJ have the lowest prices on gas throughout the country overall... I always fill up when in NJ and usually 20-30 cents per gallon cheaper....
If anybody cares there are a bunch of sites to compare gas prices this is one that goes by city.... http://gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx Last edited by chew246214; 12-18-2009 at 10:10 PM. Reason: added info |
