I've been hip to this thing for a while now but the problem is it's never going to come to the US, so it's too bitter sweet to stomach.

and oddly enough you could assemble your own with some mechanixal know how
2ZR swap with c60 internals in your C50 series trans, bolt on a water to air cooled supercharger M62, and thow in an LSD and call up KONI and EIbach for some suspension stuff, and then print out some vinyls. boom GRMN yaris. |

A bit over-the-top for my taste. I would have been happy with an SE/XSE trim Yaris that cost a bit more & had a bit more 'warm hatch' goodies to really differentiate it from the L/LE trims.

My colleagues may think I'm 20 years younger if I drove that GRMN Yaris to work. Fortunately, since we won't be getting any in the US, I won't have to worry about that. :) $35k is pretty crazy, but I guess you're paying a premium for the low production run and rarity. |

Alright, I’m gonna preach it... Of all the mods I have ever thought about so far, I’m glad I did the rear sway bar first. It has been the most beneficial to me and one of the easiest and least costly upgrades. I just can’t get over how right you guys were about it.

I begged Toyota to sell me one way back when they first showed the car. They told me no because it's not coming to the U.S.

You could just go to a Lotus dealer, buy the supercharger components and strap them to a 2ZR swap. It's the same engine, with a few different brackets and accessories.

I have thoughts of eventually doing something like this. Thoughts of being one of the only Yaris' at Toyotafest with a 2ZR swap that looks like it rolled out of the factory that way. Something about it tickles me.

lmao this is old news, also they were assembled in the US and exported to strictly the UK. the US will never get one as it doesnt meet regulations because it uses a lotus built engine and doesnt fall under same engine same year CARB, EPA and SMOG regulations as well as not being crash tested it doesnt fall under DOT standards either. so we will never get one, let alone its 35k and faster then alot of vehicles in lower and upper segments and would bring toyota serious cash in the US. its also a manual so no one has demand for it here, so it would sell abysmally, 35k for a manual car with base yaris trim features that you can get for cheaper and a 112 hp bump and FWD with a supercharger =s a headache for most feeble minded americans. build one for cheaper.

Damn.
You know the Yaris would make a hell of a rally car. If you could swap in a 1.8, forced induction. Its a shame Toyota never made an AWD version.
