1 week old / first round of mods (coilovers and wheels)
This is my Second "Vitz" , I bought it last week
(I had the last gen from August 2004 till April 2008) Couldn't pass up the deal on remaining 2010's I got $2000 off AND 0% financing AND more for my trade than what I owed. First round of mods were coilovers and wheels and tires, many more mods to come. I put the STD "Standard" coilovers (http://www.stdsuspension.com/ ) on it after going back and forth between several brands. I like these for many reasons: -the shock body is numerically indexed so there is no guesswork in getting the levels matched (assuming that you do or don't want to corner match) -the shock body is threaded, so that the entire shock body can move within the perch (meaning that in the front, full travel is maintained, because you don't touch the spring perch at all (unless you want/need to) I also installed 16x7 40mm offset Konig Heliums with 195/50/16 Falken Ziex 912's The Falken's seemed like a highly rated tire in the size / I've had Heliums before and you can't go wrong for the weight/strength to $$ ratio. bolt-ons / more suspension / audio & security etc.. to follow in coming months. I'll take some better pics once it stops raining in Ottawa. comments / flames, or anything else appreciated. Cheers Will |

funny you mention that
Normally the yaris isn't considered a big car (except tall) - compared to my MR2 (which is lowered about 2 inches) it towers over it. Truly though, its surprising how small the MR2 Spyder really is W |

1. my yaris is pretty heavily modified and it would be a HUGE pain in the ass to strip it back to stock. 2. i currently have 0 car payments 3. my yaris doesnt have a/c, decreasing the value for trade-in significantly

Hey will,
Your car looks great (but its slow :P jk) Stdsuspension approached me to sponsor my car with a set but I turned it down at the time... Wondering how the ride quality is and how well I preforms on the track.

As for the coilovers, pretty decent build quality - very adjustable - ride is on the stiff side (not at all what they claimed or what that other guy with the black 4dr that has the same coilovers claimed they would be) (I'm not surprised that he was so flattering, because afterall he is a shop owner who might have been trying to sell some kits as a result of posting his car on YarisWorld) If the shocks could keep up with track days I'd say the spring rate / shock setup combination would work well. They would easily live up to a season of autocrossing, but I'm not sure about a season of trackdays Regular street driving with zero winters (like my car) and the coilovers would probably outlast the car W |

Love the color combo, just not a fan of the 09 body change. Front bumper looks a little too long
