Malfunction indicator light
The Malfunction indicator light went on in my 2007 Yaris. The fuel level is at 2/3 full and I checked the fuel tank cap which is tight so it says to take to the dealer. do any of you know if there is anything else it could be before going to fork out $$ for a stupid thing I could have checked/fixed myself?

The light went on in my car, I think because my fuel cap wasn't on tight. I drove with it on for a few days and then it went off by itself. No problems. Of course, hard to say with yours.

There is two lights.
1 is the maintenance light which pops up every 5k miles. That, you can reset via looking up the process in the manual. Other, more major light is the check engine symbol (an engine). If it is the second one, you can go to the equivalent of an AutoZone (since you are in Canadia) and ask them to pull up your code for free. Once this is done, come back to us and we can help you some more.
