Can someone please, give me the name of the cable I need to hook up my IPOD to my Yaris? I've tried to find the cable on apples website and maybe I'm just not looking at the right cable, they have some many thinks and must of them seem to be FM converter cables, but now that I have the AUX jack in the yaris thats all I should need,if I can just find the right cable.
Thanks, YotaYarisUSA |

It cost me $4.95 at Radio Shack, and it sounds perfect. Some cars/trucks, you need the more expensive adapters to help boost the line level signal, or you will have to CRANK you iPods volume just to hear something.... not a problem for the Yaris! |

6ft audio cable
Ran it under the shifter console, under the steering wheel, into the door where the pod mounts on the armrest. Oh so ergonomic! |

Do the ends of the cable have one black ring? If so, you got a mono cable instead of a stereo. You need one that has two black rings on each end of the cable. Or maybe your speaker balance is all the way to the left speaker only?

I made my own AUX cable, i didn't need a 6 foot cable, so i hit a REAL (read ; Radio Shack blows for the DIY'r) electronics supply store, got my connectors, solder and wire, and made me a nice short 1/2 footer...
Of course, i also made a custom AUX port on my Yaris because us Canucks didn't get one... Cheers |

As far as i know, the Toyota iPod Adapter for the Yaris in Canada works only on the CE/LE, which leads me to believe that the CD Changer portion of the stock RS stereo is used to control the 6 disc functions...When I pulled the stock RS unit, both connectors were plugged into the back of the OEM RS unit, but when I connected the Clarion, I only needed the one OEM connector, the second (CD Changer I am assuming) was left unused...
You could use and FM Modulator through an FM station but quality would suffer of course... I just bit the bullet, for the cost of an adaptor (if such a thing exists for the RS) and bought the new deck, which was cheaper than the iPod interface from Toyota anyways... Cheers |

There is a piece that they make that takes the Ipod plug and gives you the headphone jack for the aux input and 12v power supply for the ipod to charge... I am actually on the way to the place I work to buy one. When I get it I will put a better description for you.
