Unhappy my car shacks in the first gear!!! heeeeelp pls

Hi
I noticed that when I press the accelerator of my yaris it takes almost a second for the car to respond and sometimes it makes the car shack especially in the first gear when I balance the accelerator and the clutch. As well It developed a discontinued whistle noise near the ignitions, this think happen just when the car is worm maybe after 15mn driving.
Any help please ??
it's a manual Yaris 1.0/2001 with just 24000 miles

Is that a new problem? or is the car new to you? Or have you had the car for a while and it just started happening?

happens to me rarely, feels like clutch slip but I know its probably not, is it when you try to launch 60-75% throttle?, thats when I get it, not at WOT, and not starting out normally. I do not get a whistle noise and it does not get louder, just while launching hard.

of course it is a different model so it could be something entirely different

I have a 2008 model. Getting ready to take it in for my first 5000 mile service. I have the same problem on that first gear. I have not heard the noise yet. I'll listen for it, the next time I drive. At first we thought we were not used to the new car, but all 5 of us tried and have the same problem from time to time. I have started to use the hand brake on a hill and listen to the accelerator before I pop my clutch. It's really annoying since I don't drive this car all the time. I Googled "Toyota 1st gear problem" to see if other people have the same problem. I want to print out all the similar complains to show the dealer that, our driving skill is not the problem here.

i have the problem when the car is cold. The clutch is slipping, but not exactly. so it makes it feel like the car is shaking/gear grinding.

now you say it happens when the car is warmed up.. so i don't know.

i know the my 04 yaris (1.5L) was known for slipping clutches. I'm not quite sure if the problem existed back in 01.

Depressing the clutch at stops or resting your foot on the clutch while driving will cause premature wear on the disc and polishing on the clutch plate, and lead to slippage and vibrations, chatter. This can happen in 10,000 or 50,000 miles. If this is the case, the solution is a new clutch.

Yea, mine gets pretty gnarly when its cold. The whole car goes nuts. When everything is warm, though, its fine.

Same problem. It's quite sluggish when cold. Best to just sit there for a few minutes and let it warm-up before heading out

Mine is starting to do it all the time out of first gear, warmed up completely, while its being engaged under throttle, chance I bent the gear?

Sounds like it wants to stall. Did you try giving it a little more throttle?
