Is This Normal? i was told its normal, but i dont think it is
I have a question for everyone, whenever i am going about 70-75 mph and i am in 4th gear when i go to shift to 5th my car's rpm doesnt drop at all it stays at about 4000? is that wierd or normal? i was told it was normal, my car jumps way bad when i put it into 5th gear so i dont think its normal

If your RPM is at 4000 in fifth gear at 70-75, then it isn't normal. If you see absoulutely no drop in RPM when shifting gears, not normal. Time for a trip to the dealer................

thats what i thought the dealer told me it was normal and i knew it wasnt! i just got an oil change i have less than 12000 miles on my car and it has been doing it since i first got it. i still love my car though these yaris's are bad ass

well, i'm not sure what you're still doing in 4th at 70-75mph, i guess still accelerating? when you shift gears, the the engine rev hangs in the yaris until you shift into the next gear, rather than dropping. my yaris sedan is usually at about 3200 to 3300 rpm at 75mph - so if yours is still sitting at 4k once you're actually in 5th, then yeah you should definitely get it checked out.
