09 Yaris Sedan/Sedan S option packages?
Hello. I'm about to buy an 09 Yaris Sedan because my 03 Echo was wrecked (not my fault!) and I loved my Echo. I've been trying to compare prices using the Toyota site and the AAA page but I am confused on the options between the S and the non-S models.
Here is my wish list: - Automatic - 15" wheels - Power locks, doors & windows - keyless entry/trunk popper - alarm system - MP3 CD player - rear defroster, etc. - fold-down rear seats would be nice From what I am seeing, it seems that the S comes with the 15" wheels and the MP3 player but the non-S doesn't. There are two different alarm systems it seems: ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM W/ENGINE IMMOBILIZER (PN) or V.I.P. RS3200 SECURITY (V5) Both seem to require the power package, which I plan to get anyway. But what's the difference? So either way it looks like I'll need the all-weather guard, the power package, and one of the alarm systems. But if I go non-S I would also need the convienience package. Is this right? Oh, and one more thing. I had a Certified Used car with a 7 year warranty before (it was included in the price). Is there not a warrany included with a new car? Thanks for any input! This is going to be my first brand new car and I don't know anyone that is good at figuring this stuff out. |

As far as the warranty, basic warranty is 3 years or 36k miles I believe. You may purchase an extended warranty if you wish.
For the options, you can special order one with all the things you want an wait several months for it to be made, or just go around to different dealerships and look at the sticker to see which options that particular car has that is closest to your wish list. My '07 S sedan came bone stock, no ABS, spoiler, fog lights, alloys. All it had were the 15" steelies, convenience package (the one with the floor mats, cargo net, and basic first aid kit). It also had the MP3 player (I think all Yarii does). |

Just imagine a non-S model being less sporty/aggressive looking.

Thanks. If I can afford it I am going to go with the S.
