LOLTUS is not happy

My friend wrecked his elise. I guess they don't hold up so well running into a guard rail. Pics already made it around to a few other forums so I figured I would share them for you guys.

Don't see any blood on the steering wheel, seats or windshield. Hope he's okay.

Did notice a coat over the guard rail. At first I thought it was a crying towel, which given the circumstances is not an off thought.

Sorry about the car. They're just things and things can be replaced - at the cost of some pain of course.

sorry to be rough , but it gets to me each time i see a beautiful piece of machinery ruined by stupidity and inexperience.
were you there when it happened?

Never take anything for granted. Even professionals crash but, they are just better prepared for it.

The worst thing about the elise is that the panels are glued on and a pain in the arse to repair/replace. That is some damage. Hope he's ok and insured.

the only way he hit gravel is if he was hugging the corner or attempting a drift. im sorry the road in the pictures doesn't seem filled with gravel. its my OPINION this was driver overconfidence and error in judgment.
i'm well aware that the accident was probably due to inexperience.. however your post is basically a moot point.. i've seen a couple Elise drivers go sour before at racing events.. drivers with plenty of experience. it's a hairy little beast, the Elise

well, bummer... it is a beautiful piece of machinery but yeah, due to its construction it'll be cheaper to buy a new one than fix it

BTW get dibs on the engine and put it in your yaris

hey it's maybe just fantasy talk at this point, but if he can get it at a good price, it'll still be a pretty good swap
