Can i watch cable tv through hdmi slot?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=24-009-154

I am looking to purchase this and use it as a tv as well. One option is purchase a tv tuner on my labtop and view it through the screen.

I was wondering if there is a converter. That will allow me to plug in the cable directly to the back of the tv?

Wouldn't that TV tuner go out due to the digital phase of cable?

I think ill end up having to use this. Thing is my labtop screen broke. So looking for replacement screen. But figure i just might buy a external lcd. Also been looking for a nice tv for my room to replace my tiny box tv.

So this would be perfect. I can watch tv on it and then use it for my computer as well. While saving lots of money.

24lcd hd tvs cost lot more than this

You can watch cable through the HDMI slot, but youy have to make sure you have a Hi Deff cable box. Just took my old box to the cable company and switched it over to the HD.

Yep, you sure can. All you need is an HDMI or DVI video output from your cable box or other source. You can buy DVI to HDMI cables as well if your source is DVI but the display device is HDMI.
