heres my short shifter mod!
took me a while to get this done but here it is. to begin with it was a b%tch to swap the short shifter..its not as easy as what twm shows on their steps then again the case may be slightly diferent from us version..
*shifter shaft bought from whoopee. thanks -i had it bend at work and cut it down 2.9 inch lower than stock and had it rewelded added grooves b4 weld for extra strength. *leather boot is from redline. although it should come with a bezel around the edges to give it that clean look..i instead glued the edges to the boot itself to keep it clean. *push washer courtesy of twm.. thanks to frank! - the washer has to be dremelled cut otherwise another bit*h to take out *quickshifter added courtesy of nst! thanks the install 1 out of ten being ten the hardest ill give it an 8.. took 2 people to do this. and i have to take the whole plastic case out to get underneath to remove the plastic top holding the shaft. i wish i took photos but it was snowing at the same time.. sorry. Marcus, when you say you installed the NST SSK, is that the I or II?

im not sure twm would ever test on a US car, seeing as theyre in/near montreal....
i also cant imagine puting the shifter lower than stock....seems like itd be too awkward to shift having to reach down and all....how do you find it?

i thought about that too i guess depends on ur reach..im only 5'6 so i guess my reach will be lower.. just perfect for me my hand just sits down leaning on the shifter instead.. also why i bent it back a bit so it comes closer to me instead.. made a difference i guess.

I am on the shorter side of people ~5'7" or so and I cut my shifter down by two inches. I have had no problems at all with reaching to shift, it feels much sportier now.

I did the same thing; I cut a couple inches or so off the top of my shifter. It works well for me because the long shifter was bothering me, and now it's the perfect length for my arm.

barber, I was thinking the same thing... while driving today, I shifted by using the shaft rather than the knob to feel how would it be when the shifter is too small, And I found it a bit uncomfortable.... since the stock seats are high
