I need some ideas!

Sad day for me.
I took a same road everyday to work
Well this morning, there are like 20 cops there check everyone driver license, insurance...when they pass by.
Well they pull me over, one cop came to me and ask for driver license, that's it nothing else, then two more cops in front of my car yell very loud that's i got dark tint on my car and it's need to be check.
I know i got 20% on my car, but 20% on light interior it's just like legal (32%) on dark interior. They are being a AHole. Well he wrote me a ticket anyway.
The PROBLEM IS:
While i'm sitting there waiting for my ticket, i saw they let's alot of peoples go with dark window tinting at least 20% on their 2 front side tinted on most of them...SUV..TRUCK..... I even saw they let's the Z go with dark window tinting too "the owner of the Z is around 50 some years old".
Any suggestion or ideas that i can file a complaint to this Police Department?

did you get a ticket though...if you did take it to court. bring a rcpt for ur tint that show the percentage of it. you ll be fine..although what bothers me bout this process is the time i used to go to court.they should reimburst me for that time since its a bogus call of a charge to begin with.. good luck!

if you have a receipt showing that your tint is a legal percentage then sure bring that in, though ig they used their little testing machine and it showed the tint as darker than legal the receipt might not mean much. If they did use thier little testing machine, and it was darker, maybee just pay the fine and not chance becoming their new favorite target by speaking up.

thanks for the advice
My tint is not legal, but it's look like legal, exactly the same becaue i got Tan interior color so 20% on my car will look like legal which is 32% in my state on a Black Interior color car.
I just hate it for not say anything you know, this is not a communist country.
I'm mad because this is not fair for me. They giving me a ticket, while let's other peoples go? It's just like they pull you over for a broken tail light, while another cop at the same place let's the other car with broken tail light go-without give him/her any ticket. I feel they bullying me.

Hate to be the negative one.... BUT

1) you were wrong so the ticket is warranted
2) you can't catch everyone
3) if i shoot someone and get away with it, that doesn't make it ok for you to do it

regardless of how it "looks," it's illegal. If it's illegal, the cop can issue you a citation for it according to his/her discretion. It sucks because they do tend to pick on younger drivers, but them's the breaks. Don't want a ticket? Become a cop or convince a close family member to become one. Everyone knows it's one of the "perks" of the job (basically you and your family/friends getting away with everything short of murder).

hey I agree that it sucks and I'm sure I wouldn't be happy about it either but technically no one did anything wrong to you

SUV's can have up to 5% all around depending on the state. My Jeep had 5%. They are just in a different ballfield as far as tint goes. Plus you were still illegal anyway

Well i got an answer from their department about my case, just rip it off, and they will waive the ticket.
This is just a waste of time, and for them they just being a johnson.

I put on the lightest tint. I want to reduce the heat load and screen out some of the sun. I tell my son not to put on the darker tint because your just asking for trouble. There is a reason for the law and if you break it, face the consequence.

Yep, license checks they call them here. They check your license, registration and insurance info and if they catch a DUI or two that's just a bonus.

We have DUI check points. I am sure that profiling is used. A new law on the books as of 1-1-09 will require that the car be impounded if proof on insurance or a valid driver license can't be produced. A girl at work whose boy friend (didn't have a driver license)took her car out and ended up costing her a lot on money to get the car out of the impound yard.
