black bumper

i've seen a couple avatars and pictures of people who have a black front bumper (just the part between the grills). is everyone just getting it painted black, or is it a custom bumper or what? usually see it on white HBs. I want to get it done, looks like an evo in the front. any suggestions?

It's painted. It makes it look kind of European-y like the VW Golfs and Audis or, like you mentioned, the Evolution.

I think TickleTimeTim was talking about blacking out the mid section of the bumper like Treyz car.

yeah, like that one. SICK! have considered a custom paint job, in which the whole front of my car is black (gotta get the black halo headlights and smoked fogs) and then it's painted to where it looks like paint is dripping back. I wanted it to look like I ran through a puddle of ink. guy said he would do it for $800. Not too pricey, but still like the look of just that front black.
So i take it, that's just a paint job on the blue one.

Hmm. Forgot about the vinyl alternative! Thanks Gideon.
Yeah, you should try vinyl. In case you don't like it or get tired of it, you can always remove the vinyl.

vinyl is definately the way to go. To me, for some reason it looks weird. Looks like a goatee for the yaris.

Can anyone get a lead on a vinyl solution for this look? This would be amazing if so.

If there is a manufacturer that sells the actual vinyl sheet for that section then I am in.

did you really do that yourself? good lord that's sexy. is that a painted carbon hood? ever consider blacking that vitz emblem? it would look good. i've considered it myself once the vinyl work is done. how many square ft did it take? did you cover that bottom grill in black, or was it already black?

sorry for the 20?'s

That looks amazing.

Quick question.... does it come off easily?

I'd like to remove it if it gets too chipped with stones, or if I screw up the install... then put on a fresh layer of vinyl. Also, since my car is leased and if I decide not buy it out, then I want to restore the car to its original state.

I've had no issues removing vinyl from glass/mirrors on my car, but I am not sure how easy it is to remove off of a painted surface.

Echos car looks so sick. Love the color. How did you cut the vinyl exactly without scratching the paint did you just measure and cut it off the bumper?
