Singapore Yaris/Vitz Club - Hankook V12 Evo tire tryout
The Singapore Yaris/Vitz Club hooked up with the local dealer for Hankook tires to organize an event to let our club members sample the Hankook V12 Evo. I personally feel that that's the best way to sell tires by letting people see/feel/hear it for themselves. We had a turnout of over 15 cars of both JDM Vitz and Thai Yaris. Predictably for Singapore, it rained and I did my test circuit in terrible conditions. But the best part of the meetup was meeting up, talking and trying out other owners' mods, exchange of experiences and just meeting new faces.
Long line of interested cars Fixing a wiring problem Oooh check out those fancy tail lamps Pacific blue Yaris Yaris "sedan" nick34's car More Yaris "sedan" Enjoying the facilities Nice lounge, tire wall, bar and drinks of the non-alcoholic kind Wondering if 20 inch rims would fit a Yaris More Yarii Spot the unique mod My turn to get fitted Test tire for the day, Hankook V12 Evo Sporting a new look Group photo Waiting for the torrential rain to stop

cool!!!
I really like that pacific blue color, would have been my third choice after white but the question is... how well did the tires do in wet conditions?

The V12 Evos seem to be great for the money. They were offered to us at US$70 apiece in 195/55/15, and are comparable in wet weather to my 12,000mi old Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 tires, while being quieter and cheaper. However these tires are newer, so you do expect the rubber is more supple and hence the lower road noise.
According to the shop representative, Hankook RS2 tires offer better outright grip in dry weather, but aren't as good as these V12 Evos in wet conditions, due to the RS2 having less grooves.

They seem to be available in Canada at least. You might want to speak your your nearest dealer about it?

You know...when I see how developed the Yaris model is in other countries, I get mad a Toyota for giving us a great car with very little options. Why do other countries get such great options?

The unique mod is the sunroof -- although that J's Style wing is pretty unique for us too.

I'd like to know where I can get that rear window visor/rear window spoiler on that white sedan in the future.
As for the rims, there are many brands that make that style. |
