Non US VIN numbers

Hi All

I am a YW member, but I live in Beirut, Lebanon.
I am trying to decode my VIN to check if TSB T-EG032 (drive belt noise) apply to my Yaris, but i am having trouble with the 10th digit.

it is supposed to be the Year digit but it says 0. My car is supposed to be a 2008 model. I purchased it in 09/2008, but on www.toyodiy.com it decodes my VIN and says it was manufactured in 04/2007.

Any other members out there with 0 as their manufacture year?

My canadian 08 has an 8 as the tenth digit, i think somewhere along the way some one miswrote your VIN number or your dealer ripped you off big time. Is the number stamped on the plaque on your dash the same as the number on your registration papers?

It occurred to me that someone might have copied the VIN wrong, but I checked it against the plate. It says 0 in the Date Field. Everything else in the VIN checks out even through www.toyodiy.com

Canadian Cars are for Canadian / US market. there is also cars for JDM, and other designated as General or multiple markets (which my car belongs to).

Call Toyota and tell them your VIN number and they will tell you what year the car is? you are probably going to find out that your dealer sold you a new 07 and let you believe it was an 08.

According to you IllusionX, if it is manufactured in 06/2006 then it is a 2007 model.
so if mine was manufactures in 04/2007 it should be a 2008 model. right?
