So swin flu is no different than regular seasonal flu

Saw on news today that there is really no more danger than regular flu. Actually there have been no reported deaths in the states of people getting it. And people die normally from normal flu every year. Only the elderly or very young who have weak immune systems.

Just completely blown out of media proportions. What i dont get is why they are shutting down schools. I mean every time there is flu season we should all have to walk around with masks and close down all schools?!?

We have a lot of cases here in Wisconsin and they were interviewing some high schoolers who had it. They said in the 2 days it took for the tests to come back confirming it was indeed the Swine Flu, they were already feeling better. I'm sorry, but I've had the REGULAR flu and felt like a truck hit me for a week.

The power of the media is scary. That and it was an opportunity to stimulate the economy through sales of drugs people don't need and hand sanitizer.

Here is a GREAT leaflet, soon to be distributed to every home in the UK, that lays out a great deal of common-sense info and advice about swine flu.
Having looked in the papers in both the UK and the US, this appears to be very well-balanced, and free from hysterical babbling.
Enjoy.

Each year approximately 36,000 people in the US die from seasonal flu-related causes (Source: CDC).

Last I saw, the total number of deaths specifically attributed to this recent outbreak of Swine Flu (H1N1) in the US was 1 (Source: CDC).

You decide...

Updated, apparently a lady in McAllen died today because of the H1N1, but she had health problems already...

Still, on average, 98 people died of seasons flu-related causes today. Same will happen tomorrow. And the next day...

Cheers! M2

And I agree it's not that bad. As a matter of fact last I heard it's starting to wind down in Mexico. Pretty sure other countries will be next. People falling for the exaggerated media propaganda is still kinda funny though lol
