Fog Lights

I am thinking of ordering a set of OEM fog lights from Micro image. Is it worth it to get them? Do they make any difference in the lighting while driving at night?

What make a big diffrent is HID'S. I was going to get fog lights for mine but I bought some HID'S and man they are good. I have just order some new HID'S from Micro Image too. Cant waith to get them the are a really blue color. I would look into starting off with 8000k and go from there. With HID'S You want need fog lights.

you can also get foglights and put HID H11's in them. Super bright foglights.

i wonder what the beam pattern would be, probably scattered up in the air, you should stock some projectors that fit into those housings.

I installed a set of the MI fogs on my Yaris and found them to make a huge difference for me with night driving. They add light further out to the sides and really brighten up the road up to about 30' in front of the car.

I have the stock fog lights that came with my RS, and I believe they do help in all conditions, even clear.

But for the love of god, PLEASE align them properly. My lights don't point up at the rear view mirror of the car in front of me, and I absolutely hate people who install aftermarket lights that are not pointed properly and are super bright for no reason. No one needs high beams on lit streets.

I've never had these before, so forgive my ignorance ...

Do you they kill your brights when you have them on?

Are you supposed to switch them off when other cars are approaching just like the brights? Or are they focused more to the ground to help alleviate the need for that?

I would absolutely love to have something like this for those foggy nights on unlit roads near the water.

mr beeblebrox, the fogs are meant to illuminate the road more directly in front of the car for when you're driving in the fog

i find they illuminate more than that as i use yellow bulbs in my fogs so i can see their illumination effect all over, not just specifically the ground in front of the car

You can have your foglights on all the time, that's the way I usually drive, even during the daytime. Mine are wired so they come on with the ignition (I just leave the foglight switch always on), but then I can't turn them on when the car is off. I don't trust myself to remember every time.

Mine's on an independent switch. Left them on today when I went off to class. Luckily I haven't swapped to a braille battery yet!

Might have to take a look at your setup when I get down there to copy you Garm since I like mine always on as well.

Back on topic: My opinion on fogs is that they're bright, low, and wide, and you can get them in a non white color. This means they do a good job of illuminating things your normal head lights can't as well as providing your car with extra illumination for other people so they can see you better. Overall I think they look great on the car and are very practical. Get them!
