rims
I have some 17' rims the tire size is 225/45ZR17 and would like to know if they will fit on my Yaris please advise.

this should help some. it looks like with 225/45, safe size should be 16 and not 17, but look at the thread, it should help a lot welcome to YW!

That's the #'s that were on the tires and I'm not literate when it comes to that do u mind explaining it a bit more.

225 is the tire width in millimeters, 45 is the profile of the tire (height of the wall) and 17 is the size of your rims in inches. basically, 225 width on 17 inch tires is too wide, you'll rub if i'm not mistaken. 225 with 45 profile on 16's would be a better choice (assuming you have stock suspension) i'd go with 205/40/17 if you want to keep those rims. hope this helps, but if not i'll try to explain it better

225-45-17's are too tall for the yaris
you want 215-40-17 or 205-40-17

Thank you very much.. the rims came with the tire I guess I'm gonna have to trade them or
Or sell the tires to get some that fit cus I like the rims. |

you should try them on first before you get rid of them.. i plan on putting 205/50/17 on the car they should run without rubbing (if you havent touched the suspension) 225 is just the width of the tire.. i would try them on before you go out and go through the hassle of getting new tires :)

i just got some rims with the same size tires on them for my yaris but the tires are shot.. otherwise i would have an answer for you lol

Lots of talk about the tires but none about the rims. There are three critical things we need to know about the rims;
1- offset 2- bolt pattern 3- hub bore
