Factory warranty + warranty extention
Hi,
I purchased a 1 year old (2009) yaris with 25000 miles on it. Factory warranty of 36000 or 3 years is getting transfered to me. Dealer was trying to sell me extended warranty for 7 years (priced 1276$). I refused to purchase it and now comes the question. Can i buy extended warranty directly from official toyota dealer? How much would it cost if somebody knows? Thanks. |

Only if it's an actual "Certified" Toyota used car from a Toyota dealership. Otherwise it's some sort of aftermarket extended warranty.

Warranty
It's an older list, so the prices are now higher but $500-$900 isn't bad. And it's from a Toyota dealer so you can get warranty work done at any Toyota dealer. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1258591

I paid $659 for 7/75,000 from a REAL Toyota dealer at time of purchase of my brand new Yaris...
No deductible Platinum warranty.

I still don't think you can buy a used Toyota from a non-Toyota dealer then walk into the nearest Toyota dealer and buy the factory extended warranty. It just doesn't work that way. You have to buy a "certified" used car from an actual Toyota dealer to get that warranty.

Im buying my yaris from hertz rent2buy. They are transferring 36k miles warranty to me. After i get all documents and car plates onto my name ill go to local toyota dealer and talk to them. I do not think its impossible to get an extended warranty from them.
Ill update this thread on how it works out. |

Comparing the two, Hertz is selling the base Yaris for less with less mileage. I even found a Prius for under 14k with only 50k miles on it. You made a good choice. |

Mine was a 2dr liftback base model no power options 43k for 10600. In my area, Hertz is selling them for 10200 with 23k miles.

The warranty goes with the vehicle, no "transfer" is needed. You'll also have the balance of the 5yr/60K powertrain warranty.
