how do you remove this brake Drum?
this is on my gf chevy aveo, and yeah i been banging this thing for like hour, still no result.
Id been googling for repair manual, even under daewoo but nothing come up. |

I'm guessing you pop that center cap off and there will be a large nut holding it on.

I think you'd get further if you at least removed the dust-cap, and some of the mechanical sh!t inside it. Things that wheels are bolted to do not usually come off with just a few bangs from a hammer.....

that's what i thought guyys, but i'm trying to use all kind of stuff to pull it out, turn it in clockwise and counter, but that dust cap feel like gorilla glue in there.

Have you tried releasing the brakes (after making sure the car won't go anywhere), then taking a mallet or hammer and giving it a few good wacks?
The next resort after that would be to take the appropriate size bolt that fits into that hole on the right-middle of the first pic and forcing it off that way.

use a small screwdriver and a hammer, pound the screwdriver between the dust cap and the drum and pry it out there will be a cotter pin with a nut behind that. After removing the cotter pin and the nut the drum should come off.

Manufacturing code.
I must say, that drum looks to be in mint shape. Usually they're rusty a couple days after delivery. Last I recall, you had to remove the axle nut (underneath the grease cap) to remove the drum, but I may be thinking of another car... |
