It would be ideal for the commute. Need a bigger car for other things.

The problem with that is even evidenced in that youtube video. No one will give that thing any respect. You will have every big-ass van or truck behind you riding your ass to make you feel small and prove to you they are so much bigger. I have a hard enough time in my yaris with big assholes behind me riding my ass or not allowing merging. I can't imagine how bad it would be with that thing.

No worse than riding a motorcycle...

Which leads me to question the MPG, but they are not claiming that is the overall or even highway mileage, just that "it will cruise at 100-120 Km/Hr (60-72 MPH) with an unbelievable 0.99litre/100Km (258 miles/gallon)." Most vehicles use very little gas at that speed, it's getting to it where the majority of fuel is consumed. Most liter-class bikes get 40-60 MPG depending on how they are ridden; I doubt this 1.0L-engined car will surpass that being bigger and heavier.

Additionally, $600 for it? I doubt that as well, even the Tata Nano is $2,200.

Lastly, there's little chance this would ever pass US safety requirements.

But it's cool, and very reminiscent of the Messerschmitt KR200!

Cheers! M2
