lock/unlock buttons
some friends and i realized how stupid the lock/unlock buttons are in my 2010 yarii sedan on the driver side the button is horizontal and on the pass side it looks kinda like the window button why wouldn't toyota just make them both horizontal it would make more sense that way and now it makes me laugh every time i actually look at both buttons cuz i want to mod it to be the same but i know i wont ever....hahdhaha any one else think about this?

HBs have the 'passenger' button in the middle near the handbrake and it is also a vertical button. There is only a window button on the passenger door.
Modding them to be the same seems a little OCD to me. But that's what happens with RHD cars converted for LHD markets. Things seem weird to our market I guess. -SAV

As a hatchback owner, I find that lock button in the same spot as the handbrake is pretty useless...

It is. It reminds me of my last car, a '97 Volkswagen Jetta. The lock/unlock AND the rear windows were on the center console. Crazy Germans.
I don't think I've ever used the center button. It's such a tiny car though, it's not exactly hard to reach over and flip the lock if necessary. -SAV
