New Owner-08 Liftback Sport

Hi everyone,

As of 1/10/11 I became a very happy Yaris owner. Got me a 2008 Yaris Sport Liftback. It's white with only 36,000 miles. Been looking for one for a while because I have heard such good reviews. I have been into Ford Festivas because of the fuel economy getting 49mpgs typically for full tank runs. I frequently hypermile and log my fill ups on fuelly. I was a little skeptical about the epa estimates of only 36mpgs but seeing what everyone on here gets I think I can do much better than epa.

Well here it is. (Sorry for the unclean pictures, it's been nonstop snowy here and I just moved so I haven't found a good touchless carwash nearby yet)

Also, I failed to check for an image size limit so sorry if they're too big.

-Donny

Ohhhh....a tach! I wish all Yarii came with one!

That's a nice S, and your passenger in the gas station looks to be enjoying it!

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the pics! They make me glad I live down south!

Cheers! M2

Way to go Donny

You will do waaaay better than 36 MPG!!sounds like you know how to do it.
In the winter its tough for me because it idles a lot I like a warm car!
If you dont have snow tires lower your tire pressure 2 to 3 psi yes lower!!
We are also having non stop snow here. dropped mine from 36 psi to 32 psi
5speeds a plus too. I have a touchless wash near me $3bucks there all the time 1 day its dirty again. ha..ha..

I usually only let it warm for about a minute or so. Just to let the sensors warm. I use synthetic and don't beat on it so I assume that's okay. I also don't lower my tire pressure to prevent fuel mileage drops. My Festiva currently has 280,000 miles on it and still kicks around pretty good. Hope to make the Yaris go even further. The only thing I think Im going to add is the center armrest and full factory floor mats. Didn't come with them. Otherwise I enjoy the stock appearance.

" For anyone interested here is the link to my turbo Festiva engine swap thread."

We had FESTIVAs years ago . Great little car ( MAZDA 121 ) . The 1.3 ltr. engine is one the toughest I've ever seen . A friend had an '88 with the 4 speed manual and didn't change the factory oil out until 30,000+ miles . Reason is when I checked it for them the oil was over a quart low and black as night and pointed out it may be in need for oil change . They used it for pizza delivery . The car went well over 100,000 miles . Had been in a few accidents as well . Amazing . Still see a few buzzin' around .

Awesome ride. Wish mine was white and an S package.

And to the Festivas. We got a buddy who builds them down here.

Small world on the Festiva forum. I've likely seen him at an annual Ohiostiva meet.

His name is Jeff from Dover, OH. Most recent was a white Festiva slammed with 13" Konig meshies and a body kit. Can't find any pictures but I'll see if he has any. He is currently MIA with Festivas but has a few engines in the garage. =)
