Be honest, if you could go back in time and do it again.....
Greetings Yaris Worlders.....
Be honest, if you could go back in time and do it again, would you buy the Yaris again or would you opt to buy another car, say the Honda Fit? When I drove the Fit (after I bought the Yaris), I have to admit I had buyer's remorse. If I could do it again, I'd probably go with the Fit..... |

Had a Versa as a rental when I test-drove both the Yaris and Fit. Out of the three, the Yaris was a clear win.

I'd go buy another 2001 Echo. Overall, I liked it better than my Yaris.

Actually YES!!!
I would have kept my 2004 Echo 3dr HB... I have now bought a BRZ which is the car I was waiting for (well actually I wanted the GT86 not the scion...) I thought the BRZ/FRS wasn't going to land until 2014 earliest so I figured I had to replace the echo as it had 250,000kms on it but it was a great car even then at 250, all I had done was brakes, fluids a blower motor and an interior bulb. The 2009 Yaris I have now just broke 100k but is still a good car and a little more comfy than the echo, but a little 'cheaper' in the interior plastics especially. At least I will be keeping the Yaris for winter duty and it may go to my nephew in 4 years when he gets his license. |

No. Never was a fan of the Fit's appearance and would still be spending countless dollars trying to keep up with everybody.

No, and not a fan of the Fit's appearance either. When I was shopping for my Suzuki Swift (new car I had (for 61 months) before my Yaris), I looked at the ECHO and was very drawn to all the mechanicals (natch! ). I just couldn't get past the (IMO) terrible styling and the fact that no hatchback model was available. Once 'our little egg' burst upon the auto scene, I pretty much knew it would be my next car.

Nope. I don't have a problem with the Fit. When it comes to subcompacts, the majority I see on the road are Fits anyway (though this is because I live in Central Ohio, which leans heavily towards Honda in general. This is due to the influence of the Honda plants in this general area of the state). Anyway, I didn't go with the Fit because it wasn't available without power windows and power locks. I don't care about power windows or power locks, and I don't want to pay for it. Luckily, the Yaris is available with the fancy electronics. And another thing, changing the oil in the Yaris is a piece of cake. The Fit, not so much.

Maybe.
In hindsight I think the Yaris is just a little too small for my needs, and my significant other has never felt comfortable in it. Maybe a sedan would have worked better. As much as I like my Yaris, I'm already looking to replace it next year. Right now the 2012 Accent is a top contender, but we'll see what else is available by then. |
