The other ride - 1991 Mazda Miata

Just realized I don't have a thread on it here - this is my baby.

When I bought it:

The car:

1991 Mazda Miata
5 speed
95,000 miles
Power windows, cruise control!
Raceland wind deflector
15x7 +38 unknown wheels with 195/60/15 tires (definitely getting changed.. ;))

I plan on coilovers and some 15x8 wheels, and a hardtop. Turbo in the future and a 1.8 Torsen LSD.

Had a little bit of front-end damage but we straightened her out a little and made our own bumper support. Also took off some unnecessary weight while in the process.

Working on straightening the front:

Still not perfect, but alot better than it was. Will continue to tweak on it, and repaint the front bumper.

Raceland coilovers installed. Had to cut most of the bolts out - dang old cars!

New wheels. Rolled fenders, still need to pull them. Lots and lots of rubbing. :)

15x7.5, 0 offset, SSR Star Shark rep's.

Fixed the oil pan... wow, what a job. Remove motor mounts, hoist engine, drop subframe...

Added GarageStar skid plate to avoid this in the future.

Took the Miata on a 2,000 mile road trip to the beach in South Carolina. Broke 100K miles on the way home.

Made a new shift knob and shift boot for over the weekend, love how it came out! I bought these neochrome brass knuckles in SC and needed a use for them since they're illegal here in Ohio. :) Also ordered a racing steering wheel with quick release and a tow hook for the rear.

New wheels as of last night. 13x7 +25 Revolution RFX's. They are 4x108 so I will need adapters, I'll go for some 1" ones to make the total offset +0.

These only weigh 11 lbs. each. They are the original Schmidt Modernline wheels that are so popular now. Schmidt actually bought the wheel design off of Revolution UK Wheels.

Now the decision... silver or gold?
