Center armrest cover
Hi there,
did a lot a research on the web and called toyota parts today, and I can only find the entire center armrest console for sale... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TOYOTA-YARIS-...#ht_500wt_1203 http://www.amazon.com/Center-Rest-To.../dp/B0054RIF2O http://www.brandsport.com/toy-pts32-52060.html They don't only make the cover, I know I can remove and replace it, I don't know why I can't find one ! Do you know websites or maybe a good alternative for my center armrest cover ? Thanks a lot guys ! |

I ended up getting an armrest (the entire thing) for $40 from ebay. my car didn't originally come with one. I would say to either keep your eyes out for one on ebay as the price depends on the seller or you could sew yourself one. I'm serous on that one. fabric is cheap. try a few times and get a feel for it.

I don't think you will find the cover separate, as there is no separate part number for it. Take your current one, cut the stitches with a seam ripper and use the three pieces as templates to sew a replacement with the fabric of your choice.

I was wondering the same thing. Mine is warn. Since I can slip it right off and keep the base structure beneath, why replace the whole thing? I was looking for a nicer, pre-made cover to replace the stock one. I couldn't find a cover anywhere either, unfortunately.

Maybe wrap it with one of those seat belt pads? The ones that go on the seat belt so the belts dont cut into your neck? I haven't measured any, but they have velcro so would be adjustable.

Take a black ankle sock and turn it inside out.

Basic upholstery really isn't that hard. As CTScott said, you could take it off fairly easily and have just about anyone sew you a new one. You could also cut and hand sew it yourself if don't know anyone with a sewing machine. I just refinished my vinyl office-chair which saved $180 over buying a new one. Looks as good as new.
Failing that, take the arm rest off and have a local upholstery shop do it. Doubt they would charge much. Cheers. |
