trade 2012 LE for Honda fit
Considered trading my 2012 LE 5 door lb for a new 2013 Fit base both are automatic. They wanted $3800 out the door difference seems High since my LE only has 2500 miles on it. What do you guys think!

Personally, keep your Yaris. You will be losing way to much $$$ in my humble opinion. Had stopped at a Honda dealer last April (to see the Fit in person) prior to purchasing the Yaris. Was not impressed at all - it looks like a mini-van wannabee, not nearly as sporty as the Yaris. To each their own, tho -

I looked at Fit and Versa Note. Fit has a sportier drive and equitably dependability. But mileage 33mpg. Stopped me dead in my tracks cause I pay my own 1000 mile/no trip from one campus to the other to teach. My current car - corolla - gets 40 mpg +/-. Versa Note had the mileage, but not the dependability. I kept coming back to Yaris. Now, if it would just get here from the port!

We have an '11 Fit base with the 5 speed auto and it has been very pleasing with about 28,000 miles . The overall average F.E. is 37.3 at Fuelly.com , http://www.fuelly.com/driver/cinder/fit . Seen where the FIT is 1st for holding book value , Scion XD is 2nd , and then the YARIS at 3rd place among small hatchbacks . It's your choice , but the Yaris is a good car as well . The '14 FIT is due out soon and will be made in Mexico , that shouldn't make that much difference in quality . So , may be able to get a good deal on a '13 or wait on the '14 . Either way , you can't go wrong . Keep us updated on your quest .

You should get around $12.600 for the Yaris . Have them throw in floor mats , cargo mat , splash guards ( including install labor ), and cargo cover at their cost or possibly at no cost to you . Try several Honda dealers as well . A out of town round trip of 180 miles saved us $1,000 more than another Honda dealer . It worked for us with the trade in of a 3 door 2010 Yaris hatch with the automatic along with the power package towards the '11 FIT . If they don't budge , then you can fall back on the YARIS .

Honda now has 0.9% financing of 60 mos. on the FIT . We have this for the '11 Fit . You'll save money on this depending on your interest rate . You need good credit to participate . Go to HONDA website for details . Click on Current Offers then the FIT and you'll notice See More Offers located on the upper right corner above the FIT .

Guess I will stay with the Yaris , spending near $4000 is just a bad idea.

Ok, haestion on the Fit. I admittedly am getting a little impatient w my car still not being at the dealer (a week late now w no ETA due to computer being down). A little worried that the Colorado flood will add additional time. Concerned the car is lost/damaged.
So, I'm considering the Fit again if this drags on too long. They have manuals on the lot at the dealer in the community where I work. Manual Yaris are just hard to find and the wait is getting a bit drawn out. Three weeks later, still no VIN? What is the advice of this group? How long do I wait? How easy is it to get the deposit back if they don't deliver. Thinking of giving them til the end of Sept, so over a month. The car was at the port 3 weeks ago when I put the deposit down. How does the Fit compare on mileage -really? That's why I picked the Yaris! |

Meant question on the Fit . . . More than one, too.

The fit has a really really small battery, so you might find yourself unable to start quite often.
Mileage should be about the same as the Yaris. The clutch is really really really but really light. Feels like you are stepping on thing. And the cargo space is amazing on the Fit. |

Small battery has never given me an issue through two WI winters, car starts like a champ every single morning, even after leaving for up to a week at a time.
In the real world my Fit has achieved an average of 37 mpg driving like a normal person and as high as 47 when trying to eek out every last MPG. Clutch is super light, I can drive it in rush hour traffic in Chicago for an hour plus and have no issue. Cargo space is MASSIVE as IllusionX said. |
