I got an email today..

Our records tell us that you are the current or previous owner or lessee of a Toyota or Lexus vehicle equipped with an Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS).

Class action lawsuits relating to these vehicles are in the process of being settled, subject to Court approval. As part of the proposed Settlement, you may be eligible for:

• A cash payment of $62.50 or
• Free installation of a brake override system (BOS)
• A customer support program

Court approval

I get letters in the mail. I would be leery of Emails like that.

The body of the email had also been published in Canada's major newspapers.

I got both the email first (which I found skeptical). But then an actual letter came in the mail as well a few days later which proved its authenticy. I put in the claim online for my $62.50 cash but heard I am disqualified as I work for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. :(
