B-Spec Racing
Coming up on my first real B-spec race weekend.
The car is fully prepared, all the weights are in and its finally 100% ready to go. I'm just going to leave this picture as a teaser for the upcoming weekend. |

Thanks just finished the first race, and while the results aren't promising I do at least have a starting point.
I had a nice little battle with an ITA RX7 and I caught him going into T3 but he eventually muscled me going into T8 and I wasn't able to catch up with him after that. Ran a 1:50.2 at WSIR on street tires and with the speed limiter in place, which is still quite a ways from the 1:44 lap record, but I'm starting to get a good idea on what the car is capable of and I don't think its as bad as I initially thought. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eY3...ature=youtu.be Last edited by xnamerxx; 03-23-2014 at 12:25 AM. |

I'll post a full review later, but the car performed flawlessly this weekend. I did manage to get close to the track record of 1:44 with a 1:47. I was giving up lots of time in T2 and T9, I'm sure if I worked at it a bit more I could have been right on the track record.
Here is my 1:47 qualifying run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ohkk_-bmVY#t=134 |

That is a long video... Which lap is the good one? We have got to find a way past that rev limiter for you.

Lap 2 is the fast lap. The one where I go through T9 at 85-90ish mph. All of .7 I got from that lap compared to the rest was all gained in that one corner. If I had a complete good lap data says I could have been in the 1:46.6 range, if I was a bit more aggressive with T2 and T9 I probably could have been nudging the 1:44 lap record.
The only thing I really didn't notice with the R1S's compared to the Rivals was that I didn't get any under or oversteer, I was really conscious that I could ruin my new tires so I kept the car below my ability. |

I had a blast this weekend, its funny how small changes result in big changes of how the car feels.
Yeah I was being a big wimp in T9, which is kinda funny because turning in early results in less runoff area and makes the turn way more unsafe than it would be if you turned in late. It was something I kept having a hard time with on several turns. Yeah T5 lets just say I kept running that line by memory :) I kept kicking myself on T2, I could have gone in flatout but couldn't muster up the courage. |

LOL probably, haven't cracked the engine open to find out for sure, but I'm pretty sure I dropped a valve. Luckily I still have a spare motor, but I'm hoping I can salvage this block but I'll find out for sure when I open it up.
Coming onto the front straight I went for 3rd and managed to grab 1st, didn't notice any issues so I kept on it, 2 laps later I got a blinking CEL and the motor cut. I'll post the video later. On the good news I managed to get some hardware this weekend |

Yeah my guess is the motor hit 9500 rpm. I was more surprised it I managed to get 2 laps after it happened with no loss of power...at least till it died.
