Removing bolt off AC compressor clutch
Hello,
I have a 2008 1.5L automatic yaris sedan. There are bearings in the compressor pulley that have gone bad and the car makes a grinding noise. I bought a compressor clutch kit to replace the whole system. The problem is I can't remove the bolt that holds the clutch and pulley on. If I try to remove with a ratchet it just rotates the pulley with the belt. How do I get this damn thing off? Below is a picture of the original compressor clutch and pulley. https://ibb.co/kx62G9 Thanks for your help. |

The 7mm bolt is left hand threaded so you need to turn it clockwise or to the right to loosen it. I've taken it off using a cordless 18V 1/4" impact, not really sure how you can stop it from spinning if you're using a ratchet.
