Looks like a drain plug for the differential portion of the automatic trans. Some Toyotas had check plugs too.

I was searching for an answer, I haven't found one yet. I guess if you do drain it there, make sure theres atf behind that plug, when you fill it through the trans dipstick tube.

Leave it alone unless you are ready to change your transmission fluid which can be tricky as the procedure has to do with oil temperature.
