you just feel the rear being jerked back a bit as if the rear is doing the braking. I tried it on automatic car and this is the result. as for the manual i believe you're suppose to press on the clutch and pull the e-brake up at the same time.

With a FWD, no need to press the clutch, as the driven wheels and the braking wheels are nto the same. With a rear wheel drive, though, if you lock the rear wheels with the handbrake, you will also lock the engine, since they are connected, hence the need for the clutch

I've done that at 25 mph in a '91 Eclipse. Even without turning the wheel, it did a 180 spin out, I guess because the hand brake is only attached to one rear wheel, causing the drag on one side only. It was fun! I would imagine in something as tall as the Yaris though, a sideways slide would not be recommended, especially at high speed (roll over!).

I dont think you should try it because i think only the pros drift at like 80 mph. I drift everyday in a 2006 Acura TL type-S and the new Jettas and i usually only reach 40 mph.

they are dogs on power too. why dont you trade in for an s2000 or something? trust me its a much more fun car to drive or if you are serious about drifting and is a more balanced car. just a suggestion. i have taken the 2005-2007 TL apart from top to bottom numerous times due to common water leaks and i wasnt happy to see the bad design on the frame and interior construct. (lots of noise complaints too) anyways good luck with the TL.

So you are doing this with customer cars eh? Better yet, on dealer property. And its special that the Service Manager allows it. Just let me find some knucklehead 'drifting' my car out back. Good thing my attorney's number is on speed dial. I'd like a dealer to actually pay me for once. Could you again list the name of this dealer so yarisworld members can avoid it? Thanks.

Instead of trying to video taping customers cars videotape your own car(yaris) since this is a Yaris web page
I'll be waiting for that video
