struggling on a stupid door handle 2004 yaris t spirit

I have a 2004 Yaris tspirit which has electric front windows.

I am working on the front drivers door handle. i managed to get the broken door handle off but cant get the new one installed correctly. There seems to be a window guide channel which is in the way and I assume key to getting this on properly is to remove it. It unbolts from the bottom. How does the top of the window channel guide come off I don't want to make my problem any worse by breaking it...

i managed to move the bottom of the guide where it unbolts out of the way which gave me enough room to remove the handle and access the bolts but there is this weird plate that goes under one of the bolts and over the back of the handle by the cylinder which i assume the orientation has to be perfect or you struggle like i did earlier to day for ages and not get the replacement on.

How do i remove the window channel without breaking it? Also can this job be done without removing the blooming window?

I regret starting this faffy job but I'm in it now and the door handle is hanging on the door unbolted.
